As a firm, we are unique because we have personal experience in dealing with premature death, as well as retirement at an early age and can provide real-life strategies for dealing with those life events. Three months before being eligible for retirement, our founder, Jonathan Kanovsky, learned that his wife and the mother of their three children was diagnosed with incurable cancer. He dealt with decisions including retirement, premature death, childcare planning, etc. and has used his experience to help hundreds of clients best prepare for life’s uncertainties.

Jonathan holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Hofstra University and is a Certified Public Accountant. After founding his own tax practice in 1985, Jonathan formed JK Financial in 1997 to offer a complete spectrum of financial services to his clients. JK Financial provides solutions to life's challenges - whatever they may be - through retirement income planning services, investments, insurance and other services that may be needed on an individual basis.

In addition to his strong professional commitment to the highest levels of loyalty, integrity and service, Jonathan is personally committed to giving back to the community. His charitable work includes serving as the Founder and Executive Director of the Firefighter Sergio Villanueva Soccer Foundation, named after a friend and client who died heroically on September 11, 2001. The Foundation has endowed scholarships which grant over $25,000 every year to local colleges and high schools. Jonathan and his family have also endowed scholarships at Lehigh University, Ursuline High School and Briarcliff High School in memory of his late wife, Andrea.

Jonathan is most proud of his FDNY Soccer Club/Sergio Villanueva Foundation World Cup Tour to Germany and Holland in the summer of 2006. He visited with wounded soldiers at the  Landstuhl Army Hospital and organized a soccer clinic for children of military personnel serving in Iraq and Afghanistan at the Baumholder Army Base on Father's Day, 2006.  

Jonathan is also passionate about mountain climbing, summiting high peaks and hiking through mountain passes. He has summited peaks throughout the world and enjoys exploring the world in its natural environment. He has summited Cotapaxi (19,347), Mt. Rainier, Mt. Baker, as well as getting as high as possible on Cayambe, Chimborazo, and Gannett Peak. His hiking summits include Longs Peak (14,259), Rio Grande Pyramid (13,825) and Fremont Peak (13,743).

Though he lives in New York, Jon considers the White Mountain National Forest his home base and has summited 36 of the 48 4,000 foot peaks in the White Mountains.

Tiffany joined JK Financial in November of 2005. She is responsible for all back-office logistics, client services, and interfacing with all of our clients. She is frequently the first voice you hear when you call the office at JK Financial. Tiffany plays an instrumental role in working with all our clients to ensure 100% client satisfaction. She also ensures the smooth operation of our firm.   

As a Queens native, Tiffany has deep roots connecting her to her community. She is also a supporter of the Firefighter Sergio Villanueva Soccer Foundation. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her friends and family.
